What are my rights in case of flight disruption with Corendon?
Air travel can involve disruptions that may affect your journey's quality. This could be a delay, a cancellation, or overbooking. The EC 261 regulation allows you to claim compensation from the airline.
What is the compensation amount?
The amount of your compensation depends on the distance of the journey and the estimated delay.
Below are the compensation amounts you may be entitled to. These can vary depending on the type of flight issue encountered (delay, cancellation, overbooking, etc.).
- For a flight of 1,500 km or less: you may be entitled to €125 for a delay of less than 2 hours or €250 for a delay of 2 hours or more.
- For an intra-European Union flight over 1,500 km: you may be entitled to €200 for a delay of less than 2 hours or €400 for a delay of 3 hours or more.
- For a flight outside the European Union between 1,500 and 3,500 km: you may be entitled to €200 for a delay of less than 2 hours or €400 for a delay of 3 hours or more.
- For a flight outside the European Union over 3,500 km: you may be entitled to €300 for a delay of less than 2 hours or €600 for a delay of more than 4 hours.
The EC 261 Regulation
The EC 261 regulation allows compensation for passengers affected by a delay, cancellation, or overbooking.
There are two scenarios where the EC 261 regulation applies automatically.
- Passengers departing from an airport within the European Union can claim compensation for a delay or cancellation, regardless of the airline's nationality or destination.
- Passengers from a non-EU country, but whose final destination and airline are within the European Union.
What happens in case of strikes at Corendon?
If your flight is affected by a strike by the airline's staff, you may be entitled to compensation. EC 261 regulation does not apply to airport staff strikes.
Request compensation for a flight delay with Corendon
The EC 261 regulation outlines the conditions under which compensation can be claimed for a delay, requiring a delay of more than 3 hours at a European Union airport.
It is important to note that the EC 261 regulation applies only to flights where the delay is due to specific conditions for which the airline is responsible.

Request compensation for a cancelled flight with Corendon
If your flight is cancelled, you may be entitled to compensation from the airline. For this, the cancellation must occur less than 14 days before departure. The law considers that passengers have not had sufficient time to find an alternative solution.
If your flight is cancelled, the airline must offer you an alternative flight or a full refund of your ticket. If you choose to take the alternative flight, your flat-rate compensation is calculated based on the flight distance and the estimated delay upon arrival. The compensation amount can be up to €600 per traveller.
Compensation for overbooking with Corendon
If your flight is overbooked, you may be entitled to compensation. Overbooking or overselling means the airline has sold more tickets than available seats, preventing you from boarding. Note, to claim compensation, you must not be among the volunteers who agree not to board.
The compensation amount depends on the journey's distance.
- For a flight up to 1,500 km, you may be entitled to a maximum of €250.
- For a flight distance between 1,500 and 3,500 km, you may be entitled to a maximum compensation of €400.
- For an EU flight over 1,500 km, the maximum compensation amount is €400.
- For a journey between the European Union and a non-EU country, you can receive up to €600 in compensation.
