If your flight was delayed, cancelled, you missed a connection or were denied boarding, we help you claim the compensation you are owed with no hassle.
-
Flight delay
You arrived at your destination 3 hours late or more. The actual arrival time matters, not the departure time. You may be eligible for compensation.
-
Flight cancellation
The airline cancelled your flight less than 14 days before departure. Even if it offered you another flight, you may be entitled to compensation.
-
Missed connection
You missed your connection because of a delay and reached your final destination 3 hours late or more. The amount is calculated on the total distance.
-
Denied boarding
The airline denied you boarding against your will: overbooking or another invalid reason. You are entitled to immediate compensation.

What are my IBAN and BIC numbers? How can I find them?
The IBAN number (International Bank Account Number) is used to identify a bank account. The number of characters varies between 14 and 34 depending on the country. A French IBAN consists of 27 characters and is structured as follows:
- 2 letters corresponding to the bank's country code, i.e., FR for France,
- 2 digits representing the bank code check digits,
- 23 digits symbolizing the BBAN (Basic Bank Account Number).
On the other hand, the BIC number (Bank Identifier Code) is used to identify and locate a bank institution nationally or internationally. It is also known as the SWIFT code (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication), referring to the international organization that manages BIC registration. A BIC number contains 8 to 11 characters composed of numbers and/or letters and is structured as follows:
- 4 letters corresponding to the bank's name code,
- 2 letters representing the institution's country code,
- 2 characters designating the bank's branch code,
- 3 optional characters symbolizing the branch code if applicable.
Your IBAN and BIC numbers are indicated on your bank identity statement (RIB). This is available on your bank's digital customer space and on your checkbook. You can also contact your advisor to obtain this information.

In case of a canceled or delayed flight, how can I obtain financial compensation?
European regulations stipulate that airlines must compensate passengers if they experience disruptions such as flight delays or cancellations.
In the event of a flight cancellation, the airline may pay you a fixed compensation whose amount varies depending on the distance covered by the flight:
- €250 for flights less than 1,500 km.
- €400 for intra-community flights or flights between 1,500 and 3,000 km.
- €600 for flights over 3,500 km.
Your rights to compensation are similar if your flight was delayed by more than three hours upon arrival. Note that the airline must also provide you with assistance covering refreshments, meals, phone calls, hotel accommodation, or transportation from the airport to a place of accommodation.
How do I know the amount of my flight compensation?
In the event of cancellation, delay, or overbooking, the amount of compensation you are entitled to will vary depending on the distance covered by the flight.
The flat-rate compensation is calculated as follows:
• 250 euros for flights less than 1,500km.
• 400 euros for flights between 1,500 and 3,000km.
• 600 euros for flights over 3,000km.
To check if you meet all the criteria, use the tool provided by Delayed: in just a few minutes, you'll know if you're eligible for compensation.
Which airlines and countries must comply with Regulation EC 261/2004?
If your airline is registered in an EU member state (28 countries plus associated territories like the Canary Islands, Madeira, or the Balearic Islands) as well as Norway, Iceland, and Switzerland, your flight is eligible for compensation if the departure and/or arrival is in an EU country.
If your flight is operated by an airline not from the countries mentioned above, you can still receive compensation, but only if your flight departs from an EU member country.
Note that it is important to distinguish between the airlines that operate a flight and those that sell it. There are indeed partnerships between airlines, and this can directly impact your eligibility for compensation. To quickly determine your eligibility, check directly by clicking this link.
How many days does it take to receive compensation?
It is difficult to predict with certainty how long it will take to receive justified compensation. This depends on several factors:
- The evidence you provide to support your compensation claim
- The responsiveness of the airline involved, as well as its legal department
- The time of year when you file your claim
On average, a compensation claim takes about 3 months to be resolved. If the airline involved responds quickly and favorably, you may expect to receive satisfaction in just a few weeks. However, it is sometimes necessary to regularly follow up with airlines to complete the amicable process. In such cases, compensation may only be received after 6 months.
If the airline does not respond favorably to your compensation claim, even though it is fully justified, it is possible to initiate a legal procedure, but the waiting time before receiving the expected compensation then extends considerably (up to 2 years for airlines most reluctant to pay the due compensation).

What Does Delayed Do?
In French, Delayed means "delayed": our company is indeed aimed at all travelers who have experienced disruptions on a flight such as a delay, cancellation, or overbooking.
In Europe, strict legislation has been established: we assist air passengers in asserting their rights against airlines.
According to the latest data from the World Bank, nearly 3.7 million passengers per year choose to travel by plane to explore the world. The airplane has become a highly favored mode of transport: consequently, with an increasing number of travelers, the number of problems also rises. Canceled flights, delayed flights, overbooking, or missed connections are all disruptions that an air passenger may encounter. These disruptions are covered by European law, providing the possibility of being compensated by the responsible airlines.
Delayed takes care of everything for you: you save time and peace of mind.
What Supporting Documents Do I Need to Provide to Delayed for My Delayed or Canceled Flight Compensation Claim?
To obtain your compensation claim, whether due to a delayed or canceled flight, Delayed must first verify that you were indeed scheduled to take the flight in question, with valid documents, and that the flight indeed experienced an incident. For this, Delayed will request certain documents, starting with your identity card or passport, for the following reasons:
- Delayed must ensure that you were traveling legally with valid documents;
- That the name on the ticket matches the traveler's identity.
Delayed will then ask for all supporting documents that prove you were on this flight such as:
- Your ticket, either paper or electronic version, or your boarding pass.
The more documents you provide proving your presence on the plane, the more acceptable your file will be.
It is also recommended to provide a certificate proving the incident on your flight. Only the airline can provide it: you must request it directly on their mobile app or on-site at their counter in your airport.
Note, some airlines may simply state "exceptional conditions," which is not acceptable for a compensation claim. Your airline must clearly state in writing that your flight was delayed or canceled, and include the reasons for the incident, which are equally essential.
The documents you provide us — particularly identity documents — are verified by competent authorities. Consequently, your identity documents are recognized as legal before being sent to the airline.
What is the booking number and where can I find it?
The booking number, or PNR code, corresponds to your traveler reference for your flight(s). It generally consists of 6 characters, a combination of uppercase letters and numbers. It allows you to obtain your boarding pass, which contains all your information: your name, the date and time of your flight, the gate number, etc. You will find your booking number on your e-ticket, as well as in the email you should have received following your booking.
Your booking number is essential for your compensation claim: indeed, it proves that you had reserved one or more seats on the plane.
