Can I get a refund for a Luxair Tour ticket?

Airlines do not automatically allow you to get a refund for your ticket in the event of a cancellation. To know the refund policy, you need to check the fare conditions or general terms and conditions. However, some tickets not only allow you to change your flight times but also potentially obtain a refund. On its website, it is stated that refunds are only possible for fly FLEX tickets and changes are only possible for business class, FLEX, and PLUS tickets.

What are my rights in case of disruptions with Luxair Tour?

If during your flight you experienced a  disruption such as a  delay,  cancellation or  overbooking, you may be entitled to  compensation. Indeed, under certain conditions, passengers on a disrupted flight are entitled to claim compensation for the inconvenience caused, as provided by EC Regulation 261.

What is the amount of compensation received?

The amount depends on the  duration and  distance of the journey.

Below are the compensation amounts you may be entitled to.

  • For a flight of 1,500 km or less: you may be entitled to compensation of €125 for less than 2 hours delay or €250 for 2 hours delay or more.
  •  For an intra-European Union flight of more than 1,500 km: you may be entitled to €200 compensation for less than 2 hours delay or €400 for 3 hours delay or more.
  •  For a non-European Union flight of 1,500 to 3,500 km: you may be entitled to €200 compensation for less than 2 hours delay or €400 for 3 hours delay or more.

EC Regulation 261

EC Regulation 261 legally and strictly governs the  conditions under which a traveller can obtain  compensation following a disruption (delay, cancellation, or overbooking).

  • Travellers whose arrival airport is located in the European Union can claim compensation in case of flight delay or cancellation, regardless of the nationality of the airline or destination.
  •  Travellers coming from a non-European Union state, but whose final destination and airline are located in the European Union.

Is compensation possible in case of an airline strike?

Strikes by the airline's staff may entitle you to compensation. EC Regulation 261 only covers strikes by the airline and not those by airport staff.

Is compensation possible in case of a flight delay?

In case of a flight delay,  EC Regulation 261 allows you to make a claim with the  airline and receive  compensation. For this, there must be a delay of  more than 2 hours at an airport in the European Union.

EC Regulation 261 only applies to flights delayed due to specific conditions, such as a technical fault or operational issue for which the airline is responsible.

Is compensation possible in case of Luxair Tour flight cancellation?

EC Regulation 261 states that the cancellation of your flight must  occur less than 14 days before departure to be eligible for  compensation

If your flight is cancelled, the airline must offer you an alternative flight or provide a full refund of your ticket. If you board the alternative flight, your  flat-rate compensation is calculated based on the flight distance and the estimated delay upon arrival. The compensation amount can be up to  €600 .
